Over £13.3m worth of LCV stock sold on Carwow in first six months

Online marketplace Carwow has sold more than £13.3m of light commercial vehicles since launching its specialist auctions six months ago.

Over 300 dealers per month have placed bids for LCVs via Carwow online auctions since the launch in November, and the total volume of bids placed has exceeded 10,000.

The volume of listings has also increased rapidly, now averaging over 500 per month. Approximately one-third of the LCV listings have been vans, the most listed model being the VW Transporter, followed by the Ford Ranger. The average sale price on the platform is £14,850.

Carwow also expects the sale of used camper vans and conversion vehicles to pick up this quarter as the holiday – and festival – season approaches.

Sally Foote, chief commercial officer – Sell my Car at Carwow, said: “Supply and demand in the used LCV market is highly active at present as an increasing number of tradespeople seek lower-emission alternatives. We only launched our LCV auctions six months ago, making good progress during this time and continuing to see our available used stock rising.”

She added: “We have also seen the number of dealers bidding in our daily auctions rise by 48% in Q1, partly due to the addition of LCV stock.”
