OVO Energy has deployed a fleet of fully electric vans, continuing the expansion of its electric fleet.
The new vans join the existing electric cars on the OVO fleet. The energy supplier has already signed up to the EV100 initiative and committed to an all-electric fleet by 2030.
Supplied through Zenith, the 26 Nissan e-NV200 vans are being used by OVO’s smart meter installation engineers, providing up to 187 miles of range in city conditions. To ensure fleet replacement cycles were met, the vehicles were delivered within 12 weeks of order.
OVO already has 40 Kia e-Niro electric cars on its Field Force fleet. It’s also set progressive goals, committed to achieving net zero carbon for its own operations and supply chain whilst halving its members’ carbon footprint by 2030, as a direct response to climate change.
Ben Guest, field operations director at OVO Energy, said: “We’re committed to expand our Field Force team’s fleet with new electric vehicles, building on our commitment to achieve net-zero carbon emissions from our own operations by 2030. Zenith is a valuable partner in helping us with our goals and enabling us to transition to a fully electric fleet.”
The deployment of the new electric vans was supported by Zenith’s comprehensive fleet service while the vehicles were liveried by MediaFleet.
Mark Grundy, customer relationship manager at Zenith, said: “The team at Zenith used its industry expertise to quickly order, equip and deploy these fully electric vehicles within a short period of time. We continue to work closely with OVO Energy to understand the different driver requirements in their fleet and recommend a bespoke transition strategy that meets their operational needs and fleet ambitions.”
