Packfleet expands delivery workforce over 20% to tackle seasonal spike

Parcel firm Packfleet is expanding its workforce by more than 20% to help tackle the traditional seasonal spike.

Packfleet is recruiting for a variety of part-time and full-time positions, backed by a “sackful of benefits”

The tech-enabled carbon-neutral courier is recruiting for a variety of part-time and full-time positions, backed by a “sackful of benefits”. These include free lunch and snacks every day they’re on the road, a salary above the Real Living Wage and access to cost-of-living money-saving benefits through an Onsi card for the duration of their contract.

Drivers also get £30 a month to spend at some of the merchants that ship with Packfleet – including Pizza Pilgrims, Oh Polly and Hurr.

Packfleet is also offering drivers permanent contracts once the Christmas period has finished as it works to expand operations beyond the M25.

Tristan Thomas, CEO and co-founder of Packfleet, said: “It’s only fair we treat drivers right – especially at a time that’s notoriously busy. That’s why we’re treating our drivers better than Santa. The tech routing software we use makes it easier for drivers to do their job, meaning they are happier and less stressed. No more rushing around London, no more parcels thrown on your doorstep.

“Couriers are the unsung heroes of Christmas. Without them, many of us would be left without presents. The stories we see every year can’t continue, and industry employment standards must be improved. The only driver that gets any recognition is Father Christmas, and we’re determined to change that.”
