With Gray’s previous choice of truck no longer available for the UK market, he decided to look at the Isuzu Grafter and eventually chose an Isuzu N35.150 twin rear wheel Grafter, fitted with a TGS aluminium tipper body. The vehicle was supplied to him by his local Isuzu Truck dealer in Leeds, Steadplan Ltd.
“A friend of mine has an Isuzu truck and he told me that he found it to be ‘bullet-proof’ and perfectly ideal for my type of business,” said Gray. “And now that I have subsequently bought my first ever Isuzu, I have nothing but praise for what it can do. Not only is it extremely sturdy and robust for such a small truck, most importantly it feels like it’s built to last and should give me years of productive service in my business.
“I probably cover about 14,000 miles a year running my building business in the Wharfedale area of West Yorkshire and I can already predict that the Isuzu will last me an awful long time. Apart from it being what I call a proper sturdy 3.5t truck chassis, it is also far more spacious than my previous vehicle, and definitely far more luxurious,” he added.
