FleetCheck has reinforced its work on a new electric van initiative with the addition of Paul Kirby as an external adviser.
Kirby, who has just formed his own EV Essentials company, brings an extensive background in electric vehicles and the commercial vehicle sector. He was most recently head of LCV and EV strategy at Vanarama and is also the electric commercial vehicle lead at the EV Café. Kirby also spent six years at LeasePlan UK as head of commercial vehicles.
At FleetCheck, the eLCV expert will work on a variety of projects, including a book-length guide for FleetCheck customers.
Managing director Peter Golding explained: “There is widespread interest in van electrification among our users and we have formulated a new strategy to meet their needs.
“We have started a new programme of enhancements to our software to add to its functionality for eLCV operators and that work will be ongoing over the next few years.
“In addition, we will be providing consultancy on everything from electric van acquisition through to range management and running costs to driver training.”
Golding continued: “We’re very pleased to be able to include Paul in this initiative. He is arguably the country’s foremost expert in the eLCV arena, and brings a huge amount of knowledge.
“One of the first projects that we are undertaking with him will be the creation of a new book-length eLCV guide for fleet operators, which we hope to release before the end of the year.”
Kirby added: “I have known the FleetCheck team for a while and always been impressed by their expertise and professionalism. I’m very much looking forward to working with them and their customers as van electrification spreads across the fleet sector in the coming years.”
