Priced from £49,335 (incl. PiVG excl. VAT), the electric duo bring ranges of up to 139 miles and identical load volumes to their equivalent diesel models.

The e-Boxer and ë-Relay come in three different body styles – panel van, window van and chassis cab – and in three lengths.

Panel vans are available in L2 (5,413mm), L3 (5,998mm) and L4 (6,363mm) lengths, while the window van is offered solely in L4 form and chassis cabs are L3 only. Maximum load volume is up to 15m3, with a 1,150kg maximum payload on the panel van version and up to 1.87m internal width.

Two battery capacities are available, depending on the size of the vehicle. The L2 length comes with a 37kWh unit, while L3 and L4 versions feature a larger, 70kWh battery.

Both power a 122hp electric motor producing 350Nm of torque. Rather than a conventional gear lever, drivers have a choice of three buttons to select the vehicle driving mode: D (Drive), N (Neutral) and R (Reverse). An EV-specific rear-view mirror displays key information to the driver, including battery charge level and range.

Official WLTP range stands at up to 73 miles for the 37kWh battery and 139 miles for the 70kWh battery.

All e-Boxer and ë-Relays come with a Mode 3 Type 2 Charging Cable as standard, supporting up to 22kW charging. A full 0-100% charge using a 7.4kW single phase wallbox can be achieved in six hours on the 37kWh battery and 12 hours on the 70kWh battery.

They also support 50kW rapid charging, allowing a 0-80% charge in just one hour.

One trim is offered for each: ‘Professional’ for the Peugeot and ‘Enterprise’ for the Citroën. Intended to be extremely well appointed, the trims include a 5-inch colour touchscreen with DAB radio and integrated sat nav, as well as air con and rear parking sensors.

The 37kWh and 70kWh batteries are covered by an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty.
