Plumbing & Gas Solutions racks up savings with BigChange Fuel

Plumbing & Gas Solutions is set to save thousands of pounds a year using BigChange Fuel.

The commercial heating and plumbing contractor is now securing lower pence per litre prices every time it fills up its fleet of vehicles thanks to the streamlined fuel management solution.

And with an average consumption of more than 1,500 litres of fuel a month across its mixed fleet of vans and trucks, the Milton Keynes-based operation will save in the region of £7,000 a year.

Darryl Taylor, operations director at Plumbing & Gas Solutions, said: “Looking at the cost effectiveness of our existing fuel card scheme had been on my radar for some time. However, it wasn’t until I attended a BigChange Customer Event, and heard how other companies were achieving savings, that I actioned a review.

“Just by comparing price per litre between the two offerings for a single month’s usage, I calculated that we would pay around 38 pence per litre less with BigChange,” he continued. “When you multiply that by the number of vehicles we have, and the miles we travel, that is a massive saving for us.

“These savings will be invested back into our team, supporting and upskilling our engineers and apprentices, ensuring we remain competitive.”

BigChange Fuel, offered in partnership with Right Fuel Card, offers users stable pump prices, directly linked to the wholesale price, with no monthly fees and simple monthly billing options.

It’s available for any fuel type – petrol, diesel, EV, or a mix – and covers 90% of the UK’s forecourts, while also providing automatic protection from fraud and round-the-clock legal protection.

BigChange Fuel is integrated with the BigChange cloud-based job management system, which incorporates a mobile workforce app, customer relationship management (CRM), job scheduling, live tracking, financial management, and business intelligence tools in one platform.

Allowing for better planning, tracking and reporting, giving better insight into vehicle usage, it also provides monitoring of driver behaviour patterns, and helps mitigate the environmental impact of a mobile operation.
