Citroën and Peugeot have opened orders for their ë-Berlingo and e-Partner electric compact vans, which are now open for orders priced from £24,910 (incl. PiVG).
As with sister vehicle, the Vauxhall Combo-e, which also went on sale this week, the Peugeot and Citroën vans use a 50kWh battery connected to a 136hp electric motor with up to 260Nm of torque. Official WLTP range stands at up to 171 miles under WLTP testing and the models support up to 100kW rapid charging – with a 0-80% charge taking just 30 minutes.
All the vans come with a ‘Mode 3’ charging cable with ‘Type 2’ connectors and feature a 7.4kW single-phase on-board charger as standard, while an 11kW three-phase charger is also available, with a full charge taking five hours.
The trio are offered in panel van and crew van versions, covering two body lengths. The standard (or ‘M’ for the Citroën) van measures 4.4m long, while Long (or ‘XL’) variants extend this to 4.8m – improving load capacity.
Load volumes for the e-Partner and ë-Berlingo are the same as the standard Partner and Berlingo vans, due to clever packaging of the battery underneath the floor. Standard/M panel van variants feature up to 3.9m3 of load space with the use of the Peugeot Multi-Flex or Citroën Extenso folding seats, while Long/ML panel van variants increase the maximum load volume to 4.4m3.
Drivers have the choice of three operating modes when at the wheel – Normal, Eco and Power – and the vans also feature a regenerative braking system to maximise energy recovery.
The Peugeot e-Partner is available in Professional Premium and Asphalt Premium trim from launch, while the Citroën ë-Berlingo mirrors this with its Enterprise Pro and Driver Pro. Panel van configurations are available with both trims, while crew van variants are sold exclusively in the Professional Premium and Driver Pro trims.
