Prohire, a leading provider of commercial vehicle hire and fleet management solutions, is expanding its mobile technician service nationwide with the help of new recruits and vehicles.
The mobile technicians offer preventative maintenance and skilled repairs at the roadside or on-site to customers of Prohire and ProGreen, the company’s alternative fuels division.
In the North West, Anthony Lewis has joined from Zenith’s mobile division to cover the region, while Andrew Bristow, previously a regional engineer for Logistics UK, will service the Birmingham motorway corridor.
In London and the South, mobile technicians Harry Timberlake and Andrew Goss provide support to customers, based from Prohire’s depot in Tunbridge Wells.
The technicians operate from new, fully equipped, mobile workshop vehicles. Each van, including one EV which will cover London, is kitted out with racking, work-benching, diagnostic equipment and tools.
In line with Prohire’s ESG strategy, the vehicles are paperless for all jobs, including the ordering of parts, and are managed via a tablet. Parts are then accessed via a partnership with suppliers using pick-up points on the motorway network.
All four vehicles have been fitted with telematics. The systems provide remote fault diagnosis, tracking, accident detection and driver behaviour analysis, allowing Prohire to monitor the vehicles, deliver optimum performance and report on CO2 savings.
Gary Banister, fleet asset director at Prohire, said: “Our expansion from fixed vehicle maintenance units is part of Prohire’s national strategy to increase the mobile support on offer for our customers across the country. Since we introduced mobile technicians at our Tunbridge Wells depot, vehicle up-time has increased and customer feedback has been positive. It’s also led to building stronger relationships on-site with fleet managers. We’re delighted to roll this service out to support our customers nationwide.
“Expanding our mobile technicians service enables us to take control of the customer experience, manage costs more efficiently and also invest in people by creating these new roles, with more to come in the future. It’s great to add another EV to our fleet as part of our commitment to leading the charge as the UK’s most trusted provider of sustainable vehicle hire.”
Prohire is headquartered in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, and employs over 90 people. The business provides nationwide commercial vehicle rental and long-term vehicle contract hire, together with fleet maintenance, accident repair management, and fleet compliance to customers across the UK.
