Radius underpins new vehicle solutions division with Global Go buy

Global business services company Radius has completed the acquisition of UK car and van hire firm Global Go, supporting its expansion into vehicle services.

The acquisition of Global Go marks the launch of the new Radius vehicle solutions division, which joins its existing fuel card, telecoms, insurance and EV charging solutions divisions

Run by managing director Gareth Jones, Global Go is based near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire and runs a fleet of over 3,000 vehicles. It serves personal and corporate customers right across the UK and has more than 25 years of experience. Its full service solution is centred around the firm’s Syner-G software, which allows customers to have full visibility of their fleet requirements from their desktop, enabling its use by a wide variety of business sectors.

Radius said the acquisition marked the launch of its new vehicle solutions division. Established as a fuel card company by Bill Holmes in 1990, Radius has since expanded into telecoms, insurance and EV charging solutions. Its rental and leasing solutions will now join this.

CEO Bill Holmes commented: “We believe over the years ahead we can play a leading role in helping our car and van customers embrace the energy transition as they move from diesel- to electric-powered vehicles. No other UK company offers fuel, EV charging, telematics, insurance and now vehicle leasing so we think we will be in a really strong position to meet all our customers changing fleet needs.

“We are looking forward to working with Gareth and his team as we take on the challenges of the move to e-Mobility in the coming years.”

Gareth Jones of Global Go added: “We are delighted to have become a part of this dynamic and exciting group. Radius hold a market-leading position in all of the sectors that they operate thanks to their industry-leading products and services. We are looking forward to building a proposition in the market that will really start to make a real difference from a cost, value and convenience perspective.”

Global Go joins a long list of other Radius acquisitions so far in 2021, which also include Australian telematics firm Connect Fleet, Stolen Vehicle Recovery (SVR) telematics business CanTrack Global and app-based tracking and insurtech business Modus. It also last month acquired Milestone Insurance Consultants and Signature Underwriting based in Leeds; strengthening the current Radius insurance business and adding both new customer verticals as well as a new geographical base.
