Record year for Isuzu in 2019

Isuzu Truck UK saw its best-ever year in terms of vehicle sales, rising 23.5% in 2019.

The 3.5-tonne Grafter range was up 47.7% in sales against the previous year

The business, which has operated for 23 years in the UK, saw particularly high demand for the 3.5-tonne Grafter range, up 47.7% in sales against the previous year in a marketplace that grew by just 13% in 2019.

Isuzu also reported steady and consistent sales for its flagship range of 7.5-tonne rigid trucks.

Richard Waterworth, head of sales at Isuzu Truck UK, said: “Despite the uncertainties surrounding Brexit throughout the whole of 2019, together with the ongoing challenges within the industry of matching supply with buoyant demand, we are really pleased with how our truck sales business performed in 2019.

“Without doubt, our ongoing investment in new products within the range has produced dividends with an exceptional performance at 3.5-tonne in particular, with the Grafter, whilst sales of the F series have started to show positive organic growth as we expand our vehicle park at this GVW.”

He added: “Over the past decade, we have grown Isuzu truck sales by over 82% across the board and 2019 was indeed a record-breaking best year ever, a testament to the broad product offering and our continually expanding dealer network.”
