Redde Northgate has named Neil McCrossan as its new Northgate UK & Ireland managing director.

McCrossan moves to the new role from his current position as UK sales & marketing director and will take responsibility for Northgate’s fleet mobility businesses in the UK and Ireland. He will also head up Northgate’s subsidiary businesses, Blakedale, FridgeXpress and ChargedEV. This will include both the Northgate and Auxillis Services branch networks.

A leading figure within the rental industry for more than 40 years, McCrossan is seen as having been instrumental in developing many of the service propositions now considered to be standard within the industry.

His years as sales and marketing director have given him an in-depth knowledge of Northgate’s structure and operations that leaves him well placed to lead the rental giant’s next phase of growth in embracing mobility as a flexible vehicle hire solution.

McCrossan commented: “I am looking forward to continuing to collaborate with a talented team under the new structure that focuses on driving growth and customer success for the future. We are now firmly positioned as a full-service provider with fleet management, accident management, and telematics among our many products, alongside our insurance replacement business and network of workshops and bodyshops is well underway. We are proud to help fleets lower their costs, boost efficiency, and become increasingly sustainable at the same time.

“Northgate will continue with its strategy of maximising customer efficiencies by providing a diverse range of mobility and LCV services. This includes specialist highways maintenance vehicles and refrigerated LCV rental through Blakedale and FridgeXpress and EV charging infrastructure for domestic and commercial solutions through ChargedEV,” added McCrossan.

Harvey Stead, COO of Redde Northgate PLC for UK and Ireland, said the appointment was an important step in helping to support future growth plans.

“As an integral part of Northgate’s senior management and a member of the Redde Northgate general management board for many years, Neil’s experience, deep knowledge of the industry, and ability to oversee our extensive branch network and operations will allow him to help our business accelerate in the future.”

Northgate will be showcasing its fleet mobility solutions at the upcoming Great British Fleet Event on 17 April 2024 in Milton Keynes. More details are here.
