Renault Master E-Tech gets larger battery and longer electric range

Renault has updated the Master E-Tech electric van with a larger 52kWh battery, increasing official WLTP range to 126 miles.

The larger 52kWh battery increases the Master Z.E.’s official WLTP range to 126 miles

It’s an uplift of 68% on the previous 75 miles offered with the old 33kWh unit, and is expected to encourage more businesses to make the switch to electric, supported by a five-year battery warranty.

Prices start from £45,160 plus VAT after the Plug-in Vehicle Grant and the Master Z.E. is offered in five versions, including panel van, chassis cab and platform cab. The panel van delivers a payload of up to 1,420kg and load volume of up to 13m3.

The larger battery also offers flexible charging options. A 20-80% charge takes 10 hours via a domestic socket, five hours from a standard 7kW wallbox or 90 minutes using a 22kW DC charger. Drivers can also help optimise range using the regenerative braking, low rolling resistance tyres and the energy-saving ECO mode.

The platform cab and chassis cab variants come in the entry-level Start specification, which includes radio with DAB, Bluetooth and USB, Grip Xtend, Hill Start Assist, Trailer Swing Assist, manual air con, electric front windows and an overhead parcel shelf.

Panel van versions are available exclusively with a new Advance grade that adds in rear parking sensors, automatic headlights and wipers, a fully adjustable suspension-type seat and side wind assist.

The new Master E-Tech is available to order from the start of August, with first deliveries due in September.
