Used LCV prices remained stable in March, helped by a strong retail market, according to Shoreham Vehicle Auctions.
The Lancing-based auction house said the strength of the building industry has led to strong demand for ex-utility units, with tipper vehicles attracting signification attention, while Luton vans with tail lifts are highly sought after from buyers in the building and delivery sectors.
The car-derived van (CDV) market is also providing especially popular, as SMEs look to plug the gap between using their own vehicles and medium-size panel vans.
Shoreham also reported nationwide online interest, with buyers as far afield as Yorkshire and Scotland using Shoreham’s portal to acquire the right vans.
Tim Spencer, commercial vehicle sales manager at Shoreham, said: “The demand in the market for new vans in March has driven retail buyers to seek more vehicles – in large numbers – to fill their forecourts, which we expect to continue into April and around the Easter break. The CDV market is also stronger than ever thanks to the models offering the right balance between affordability and payload storage.”
