Vehicle graphics specialist RGVA has completed its latest set of vinyl wraps for Johnsons Hotel, Restaurant & Catering Linen, taking the total number of vehicles it has liveried for the company past the 200 milestone.
RGVA’s team wrapped its first Johnsons vehicle in 2017 and has now applied the company’s livery to everything from 3.5-tonne MAN panel vans to 7.5- and 26-tonne DAF rigids.
The latest application, consisting of 53 DAF, Mercedes-Benz and Isuzu 7.5-tonne trucks, featured specialist 3M ij280 vinyl wrapping for graphics on the cabs, while the flat surfaces of the truck box bodies were wrapped in Arlon 4550gtx.
Phil Martin, Shaftsbury transport manager for Johnsons, said: “We continue to be impressed with the efficiency of the team and the customer support offered by RGVA. The quality of the work is always excellent and we’ve had no issues with wraps peeling like we had to deal with when using a previous supplier.
“I’ve taken the time to watch the team wrap a few of our vehicles and it’s a fascinating process. RGVA ensure the wrap is done perfectly, even around the trickiest bits of the trucks, and you can tell they really care about making sure every part of the process is done to the highest possible standard.”
Johnsons works closely with RGVA, providing vehicle details and approves all artwork whilst the new vehicles are in build. The RGVA team will then try to either travel to the bodybuilders to apply the wraps in situ, ensuring they are ready to hit the road straight away, or add the liveries at its Maidstone base. Turnaround times for the entire process average around two weeks from ordering to fitting.
Each wrap typically lasts for the duration of the vehicle’s lifetime with Johnsons, ranging from three to eight years.
The company’s 3.5-tonne vans make up more than half of its 370-strong fleet, doing day-to-day multidrop work and averaging around 75,000 miles annually. In the event of any accidental damage, such as scrapes or scuffs, individual panels can be rewrapped or new graphics added.
Originally, the liveries applied by RGVA featured three separate designs for the laundry, workwear and textile rental divisions of the company. However, in 2022 Johnsons simplified its branding, allowing some of its vehicles to operate across the different facets of the business.
