Rising van & truck sales show growing market confidence, says NFDA

Latest SMMT data shows that van registrations were led by 2.5-3.5t vans, which were up 23.8% to 34,007 in March.

Meanwhile, the third consecutive month of increased truck demand sees 41.0% growth so far this year.

Sue Robinson, director of the NFDA – which represents commercial vehicle and franchised car retailers across the UK, commented: “The figures show a continuous growth in the UK commercial vehicle market as registrations have grown for the third consecutive month to 25.3% overall.”

“All sectors of the van market performed well with heavy models 2.5 to 3.5 tonne showing a healthy increase of 28.8% with over 34,000 van registrations in March. The consistent growth of 22.3% year to date shows real confidence in the economy and an increase in the service industry.”
