Royal Mail Fleet is to open its workshops to other fleet customers.

Following a 15-month pilot, the one-stop-shop service will offer car, van and HGV fleets access to Royal Mail Fleet’s network of more than 110 vehicle workshops, which cover Inverness to Redruth, with over 70 locations open 12 or more hours a day.

The workshops will offer service, maintenance and repair across a complete range of vehicle types and plant items and will be backed up 40 mobile service technicians.

Royal Mail Fleet also said the service will offer consistency of service and pricing across the workshop network and a single and fully integrated systems platform.

The new service will be aimed at larger commercial but SMEs local to the garages will also be able to access the services.

A spokesperson for the company said: “Royal Mail has amassed a great deal of knowledge and expertise from keeping the UK’s biggest fleet on the road with the highest levels of availability, compliance and safety; our number one priority. We believe our national owned network offering structured price and service guarantees, will create a highly competitive and compelling offering for the external market.”
