Business group Logistics UK has named Royal Mail the Van Business of the Year at its annual Logistics Awards.
The accolade, presented at the ceremony at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge on Thursday 7 December 2023, recognises Royal Mail’s work on rolling out cleaner vehicles while continuing to prioritise customer service.
Royal Mail has already deployed more than 4,900 electric vehicles, with 80 Bio-CNG fuelled HGVs in operation, and two key operational sites transitioned to HVO. Electric HGVs are already planned for the future.
The company has also worked with local authorities and relocated over 1,500 vehicles to ensure compliance in Clean Air Zones.
Despite a turbulent period of industrial action, the company continues to put customers first in order to deliver a first-class service whilst always prioritising the safety and well-being of its employees.
David Wells, chief executive at Logistics UK, commented: “The panel was impressed by the scale and change that Royal Mail has delivered across its van operations. This change is leading the way in proving that decarbonisation can be delivered in large scale operations in the van sector. I would like to congratulate Royal Mail on its win; it truly represents the ‘best of the best’ in the van sector.”
Amey Fleet Services was highly commended in this category, which is sponsored by Logistics UK Recovery.
