These replacement vehicles follow the delivery of three 7.5-tonners and eleven 3.5-tonne fridge vans, all supplied on contract hire from Ryder.
In addition to supplying fruit and vegetables, dairy products and fine foods to a wide customer base, the company also supplys many of Scotland’s most prestigious events such as The Ryder Cup, the Edinburgh Festival and the Commonwealth Games.
“We previously owned our vehicles, but breakdowns, repairs and vehicle damage meant that we always seemed to have vehicles unavailable for work, so we started replacing our fleet last year with vehicles on contract hire from Ryder," explained Mark Murphy, managing director.
“Being close to the Ryder depot in Newbridge enables our vehicles to be serviced overnight, with Ryder collecting and delivering them back ready for work the next morning. Another benefit is that with fixed costs our budgeting is easier so we can spend more management time focusing on our core business.”
