Ryder expands Devizes operations in recruitment drive

Ryder is expanding its Devizes operations, including expansion of the FleetCare SMR business.

Ryder is recruiting an additional 25 new roles for its Devizes operation as it expands services, including its FleetCare offering

The Devizes office is part of the firm’s nationwide office and workshop network and a key operational centre for supporting the company’s 20,000 rental and leased vans, trucks and trailers with nationwide maintenance support, a 24/7 national breakdown service, and a large team of qualified maintenance and service technicians, engineers and customer service co-ordinators.

The office has now undergone a substantial refurbishment and telecommunications upgrade of its Devizes location to accommodate the expansion of its FleetCare operations. The team is also being expanded from its existing base of more than 100 employees with an additional 25 new roles. The new office-based positions include compliance and customer service administrators, maintenance controllers, maintenance engineers, and a FleetCare supervisor.

Tony Roebuck, Ryder external and mobile operations director, said: “Many of our customers are involved in transporting essential supplies across the UK, and Ryder is working hard to keep supply chains moving during these difficult times. Health and safety is our top priority and we have adjusted our working practices so we can work safely while supporting our customers’ transport operations. At the same time, we remain focused on building for the future. Our recruitment drive to fill the 25 new positions at Devizes has got off to a good start as we have already successfully welcomed on board some great new team members. We aim to fill all of the remaining new positions by the beginning of August.”
