The central office, located at the Birmingham Business Park, adjacent to the NEC, will bring together the company’s key support services including finance, legal affairs, HR, learning and development, internal communications, and IT. Key members of the company’s senior management team will also be located at the new facility including David Hunt, vice president and managing director, Ryder Europe. The various support services teams had previously been located at other Ryder locations across the UK.
Commenting on the new site, David Hunt said: “Our investment in this new centralised office in the Midlands will drive improved collaboration and coordination of our key support services. At the same time the benefits of having this new central facility will extend throughout the business and will support our continuing investment and growth plans for the UK focused on providing great service and value for our customers.”
Ryder’s new Midlands office will be equipped with new IT, wireless technology, and hot desking facilities and will also provide a centralised training facility. It will also become a central meeting hub with easy access from key motorways and trunk roads for Ryder staff from across the company’s 27 UK locations.
