The deal, which expands on the firms’ existing partnership, will total £1.0 million in hardware and service revenues over a two-year period, with the fleet expected to be fully upgraded by March 2015.
Trakm8 has been supplying the Swift fleet management solution to the company since 2009. The upgrade to the driver behaviour device ecoN will see some existing installed fleet hardware to be replaced along with the new addition of a real-time in-cab display.
The Saint-Gobain management team is working closely with Trakm8’s Applications Engineers to change driver behaviour to reduce the amount of fuel used and improve the accident risk.
In addition to the ecoN upgrade those vehicles with digital tachographs will upgrade to transmit the tachograph data via the telematics devices.
