ScottishPower implements Trakm8 telematics

The initial four-year contract will see Trakm8 providing telematics and data solutions for ScottishPower’s fleet of mixed vehicles, which are often required to work in extreme weather conditions.

Trakm8’s T10 telematics units will be installed and will measure driver behaviour while supplying service data and underlying vehicle health faults.

The vehicles will also be provided with Trakm8’s EcoN Lightbar; an in-cab device which provides visual and audible driving style feedback to drivers in real time, in turn reducing risk to drivers and other road users and improving fuel efficiencies across the fleet.

John Watkins, executive chairman at Trakm8, commented: “We are delighted to welcome ScottishPower as a partner for Trakm8’s commercial vehicle fleet solutions. We have been providing telematics to major fleets for many years now but this is the first customer for our full function T10 product and Swift 6 driver profiling.”

John Moore, vehicle maintenance manager of ScottishPower, added: “We undertook a rigorous supplier selection process and are pleased to have selected, what we believe, to be the best value telematics solution for ScottishPower. We are looking forward to the benefits of increased safety solutions and fuel saving initiatives offered to us by Trakm8.”
