SES Home Services streamlines fleet and service operations

SES Home Services has significantly enhanced its business efficiency and productivity by deploying the BigChange JobWatch mobile workforce management solution.

The firm, part of the same group as SES Water, provides plumbing, heating, drainage and electrical services to around 20,000 properties, covering Surrey and the surrounding counties.

The JobWatch system combines CRM, job scheduling and management reporting, with live tracking and mobile apps running on Samsung rugged tablets. This has enabled SES home Services to replace paper job sheets for the first time.

SES Home Services has also cut the ratio of support personnel to engineers, from one to three to one to 10, thanks to real-time vehicle tracking and work status reporting while the ratio of office personnel to engineers used to be one to one but it’s half that now. According to Peter Holmwood, head of operations, SES Home Services, the company is probably doing 50% more work for the same amount of resource.

The solution is also enabling the firm to spend time carrying out data harvesting and analysis, enabling continuous improvements.

And SES Home Services believe the cloud-based system will provide the ideal platform for expansion of the business, potentially nationwide.

“We are very excited about the prospects for the business now we have JobWatch.  It’s like a blank canvas that provides absolutely no restrictions when we look at how we can develop the business. It offers the scope to freely expand geographically or by service,” added Holmwood. “And we are already looking at the web booking portal for landlords and the customer smartphone booking apps to offer all sorts of potential for the future.”
