Silverstone Fleet Show 2014: Charging Solutions to showcase portable system for plug-in vehicles

According to the firm, a recent Government survey data shows that around 80% of plug-in vehicle charging is going to be done at home or at work and Charging Solutions has tailored our products to offer the best options for these requirements.

Also being showcased is the EV RESCUE, a totally portable charging system now adopted by the UK’s leading roadside assistance organisations and a valuable asset to EV fleet operators and the equivalent to a ‘gallon of electricity’.

As part of the Chargemaster group, the firm also offers FREE home charge units for all employees of its existing and potential fleet customers.

But it’s not just charging solutions that will be showcased at the Fleet World Fleet show – this year’s event will be the first opportunity for many fleet decision makers to test-drive one of an array of exciting new EVs and discover why electric power could meet the fleet mobility needs of the future.

This includes fleet market newcomer Tesla who is the latest addition to the Show line-up and joins a number of manufacturers, including BMW, Nissan, Vauxhall, Citroen, Renault, Infiniti, Volvo, Peugeot, Lexus, Toyota, Honda and Hyundai, who are expected to have their latest low emission and EV offerings at the event on display and available for test driving.

This year the organisers have split the Grand Prix circuit in two, using the National circuit for faster laps, and the International Circuit for road speed drives. There is also an off-road circuit for those wishing to try one of the many 4x4s on offer.

At the same time, the infield Stowe Circuit will become an eco-driving hub, sponsored by Allstar Card Services, for those manufacturers with strong low-CO2 sub-brands. This will allow them to not only prove the fuel efficiency of their cars, but also to demonstrate how to drive them in the most economical fashion.

A team of eco-driving experts will also be available on the day to help fleet managers understand how they can achieve, or even exceed, the published fuel consumption figures for popular fleet cars.
