Silverstone Fleet Show 2014: IAM Drive & Survive to put spotlight on driver risk management

IAM Drive & Survive is the commercial subsidiary of independent road safety charity, the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) and is a leading occupational driver risk management provider.

For over 25 years the firm has delivered holistic risk management and driver training solutions that help a business to reduce their exposure to driver risk and it is continually investing in the development of new products and services.

At the Fleet World Fleet Show on 9th April at Silverstone, IAM Drive & Survive will be showcasing its range of Driver Risk Management products and services, including:

  • Driving licence checking
  • Driver risk assessments
  • Driver training
  • Company driver policies and procedures

The Show will also see IAM Drive & Survive take part in the Show’s new-look workshop-style sessions that will tackle fleet policy, risk management, driver training and environmental management.

The new workshop-style training sessions, held in the seminar theatre in the Silverstone Wing at the Show, are a radical change from the seminar programme of previous years and are aimed at anyone in fleet who wants to find out more about the basics of fleet management.

As well as sessions on the intricacies of setting car fleet policy and environmental fleet policy, the line-up will include two seminars from Rebecca Ashton, driver education and development manager at IAM Drive & Survive, on risk management and driver training.

The first IAM seminar will look at “The Five Fleet Essentials of Driver Risk Management” and will consider what a fleet manager needs to know to aid company compliance, fleet efficiency and driver safety.

The second session, “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly of Company Driving”, is a look at how best to avoid poor driver behaviour – both for yourself and when encountering others on the road.

The new workshop-style format is one of a number of changes to Fleet Show 2014, which is being backed by the three main trade bodies, the Association of Car Fleet Operators (ACFO), the Institute of Car Fleet Management (ICFM) and the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA).
