The agreement is for 930 Caddy Maxi Startline BlueMotion Technology (BMT) and 190 Transporter Startline BMT vehicles. The vehicles, which will start to be delivered later this month, will boost Sky’s Volkswagen fleet to 2,500.
All of the new vehicles have had racking installed and will be wrapped in Sky’s livery.
Sky states class-leading residual values and fuel-efficient engines as reasons for selecting the Volkswagen vehicles.
Other reasons why the Sky team selected the Volkswagen Caddy Maxi include its load area – 4.2 m³ and a load length of 2.25m – and high level of standard equipment, while the Transporter was also selected for its practicality and fuel consumption.
David Landy, fleet manager for Sky, said: ‘We chose a fleet solution which aligned to the goals of our business. We wanted vehicles that would give us best MPG, lowest CO2 and easy accessibility to our customers. We also wanted vehicles known for longevity, reliability and good residual values. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is a great operational fit for our business.’
Alastair Hemmings, national fleet manager, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles UK, added: ‘The power of our residual values means we are highly competitive and able to offer outstanding value for money. Our dedicated fleet support team means we can also supply fleet customers with excellent options and a bespoke service.’
