Sparks Commercial Services expands with flagship LCV site

Leading Renault Trucks dealer Sparks Commercial Services is expanding with a new flagship head office and LCV sales and EV education centre in Southampton.

The site, currently undergoing a multi-million-pound refurbishment, is set to open in early 2025, expanding the company’s presence and visibility in the South and creating 25 new jobs.

Located on the Redbridge Causeway at the end of the M271 motorway in Southampton, the new dealership will serve as a head office and central hub for new and used LCV/truck sales.

At the heart of the new facility is the Electric Vehicle (EV) Education Centre, designed to equip businesses and consumers with the knowledge to confidently embrace electric vehicles as the shift to sustainable transport accelerates.

The centre will feature interactive displays, expert-led workshops, and personalised consultations, ensuring customers are fully informed of the benefits and best practices of EV adoption.

The new location will offer the full range of Renault Trucks commercial vehicles, from 2.8 tonnes to 44 tonnes, alongside an aftersales servicing operation and EV education centre.

The dealership will operate a new workshop which will be dedicated to LCV activity, supporting the truck workshop located less than a mile away.

The site is fully equipped with multiple workshop bays, an MOT lane for Class 4, 5, and 7 vehicles, complete with computerised brake roller testing and comprehensive diagnostic facilities for all makes and models.

The aftersales department also supplies repair and maintenance agreements for both new and in-service vehicles.

As an approved dealer of genuine Renault replacement parts, Sparks also provides a dedicated parts counter for sales and workshop support. The team of Renault Trucks-trained and certified technicians, along with Renault Trucks’ 24/7 roadside assistance, ensures that customer vehicles receive timely, cost-effective maintenance and repairs tailored to budget and schedule.

Sparks Commercial Services co-founders and directors Michael and Julie Spark said: “This new centre represents a significant step forward for Sparks Commercials. Not only does it strengthen our presence in the South, but it also demonstrates our commitment to advancing sustainable transport and investing in the communities we serve.”

Derek Leech, service market and retail development director at Renault Trucks UK, added: “ The new LCV Sales and EV Education Centre in Southampton aligns perfectly with our vision for a sustainable future in transportation. This investment not only supports the growing demand for electric and LCV vehicles, but also reinforces our commitment to providing exceptional customer experiences and advancing the adoption of innovative transport solutions.”
