Stiltz Homelifts optimises fleet safety and cost management with new telematics tech

Stiltz Homelifts has introduced telematics technology across its 71-strong van fleet, providing it with in-depth cost and safety insights.

Stiltz has deployed Trakm8’s RH600 telematics dashcams, along with the Optimisation platform

The business has deployed Trakm8’s RH600 telematics dashcams, along with the Optimisation platform, which provides a comprehensive route planning, delivery management and vehicle dashboard solution.

Richard Hurst, field operations manager, said the new system gives a thorough overview of fleet health and a comprehensive set of indicators on driver behaviour, providing complete peace of mind.

“Our previous telematics partner wasn’t able to provide the level of data that would have allowed the business to drive steady improvements in fleet performance. Their system was also cumbersome to use, resulting in low take-up from the team.

“With the RH600 and Trakm8 Optimisation, we can get real-time access to vehicle footage through the incredibly easy to use interface, in some cases just minutes after a driving incident. This has allowed us to protect our drivers against spurious claims. We also expect it to reduce our insurance premiums and expenditure related to driving incidents and vehicle maintenance, while encouraging our field teams to develop safer driving habits.”

To promote this further, Stiltz is also implementing a driver incentive programme, where drivers with consistently high performance will be rewarded with retail vouchers.

Peter Mansfield, group marketing director at Trakm8, said: “We’re extremely pleased to be working with Stiltz Homelifts to bring the benefits of our telematics technology to their business and customers. This is an opportunity for improvements in several areas, from driver safety and fuel usage to maintenance costs, which will be felt throughout the entire business. We’re looking forward to the coming months and years of our partnership with Stiltz and excited for the opportunities ahead.”
