Strongs showcases body conversions at CV Show

Strongs aimed to showcase the versatility of its body conversions for both on and off-road applications at the Show.

On display at the CV Show, the Strongs full body conversion on the Ford Ranger had an internal length of 2300 mm, together with an internal height of 1100 mm. This carrying capacity enables the vehicle to carry between six and eight extra height roadside barriers, as well as giving improved access to the body by means of the lower access height over the rear wheels.

The Strongs body also featured four roller shuttered storage lockers, two on either side of the vehicle, as well as a rear tailgate door with integrated scene lights, and full hazard perception markings that meet Chapter 8 requirements.

The second vehicle of the Strongs stand was a Nissan Navara double cab 4×4 in the colours of Sussex Police. Once again, this vehicle was fitted with a Strongs full body conversion and the vehicle is to be used by Sussex Police as a complete Incident Support Unit. Within the Strongs body, there is a fully extendable light mast for floodlighting areas around the vehicle, as well as full night search lighting equipment.

Designed to hold an extensive array of incident support equipment, this is the first Strongs full body conversion supplied by the Tamworth company to Sussex Police.

The third 4×4 vehicle on the Strongs stand was a brand-new Isuzu D-Max Yukon double cab that featured Strongs brand new integrated co-polymer tipper body. The lifestyle inspired tipper body from Strongs is aimed at those customers who want a dual purpose 4×4, for both work and for pleasure purposes, and boasts a payload capacity of 1200kgs.

Commenting on the varied selection of vehicle bodies that were exhibited on their stand, James Strong from Strongs Plastic Products, said, “All three 4 x 4 vehicles on the Strongs stand demonstrated the scale and versatility of the current Strongs product portfolio. Each vehicle was quite unique in terms of both overall design and specialist body features. Such has been the success of our 2015 co-polymer body range that the company has now expanded its production facility considerably to cope with this increase in demand for our products.”
