Suzuki Jimny returns as two-seater LCV

The Suzuki Jimny small offroader has returned to the UK market in the form of a two-seater LCV, priced at £16,796 (excl. VAT).

Suzuki Jimny LCV

The much-loved model was launched in 2018 but pulled from Europe in 2020 due to its high emissions that would have hit Suzuki with big fines under EU emission laws.

It’s been revived though as a two-seater LCV version first announced in September 2020 and avoiding the harsher emissions limits for cars.

The Jimny LCV will be made available this year in very limited numbers for the UK and replaces the rear seats with an 863-litre load area compartment with flat floor and safety cargo partition.

It carries over the Jimny’s 1.5-litre petrol engine and its offroad capabilities, including its ladder frame, three body angles, three-link rigid axle suspension and part-time 4WD system with low range transfer gear. WLTP emissions are 173g/km.

It’s available in one specification grade which includes air con, DAB radio and 15-inch black steel wheels.

The LCV model also features safety features such as dual sensor brake support, which employs automatic brake to help avoid a collision, hill hold and descent control and cruise control with speed limiter. eCall is also available as standard.
