Tayto Group aims to reduce road risk & carbon footprint with TomTom

The combined tracking and fleet management system has been deployed across Tayto Group’s 117-strong vehicle fleet, to be used by mobile teams of distribution, sales and management professionals.

Tayto, supported by official TomTom partner Fleet Simplicity, has also deployed LINK tracking units and ecoPLUS fuel and diagnostics monitoring devices across all fleet vehicles.

The system enables information on how vehicles are being driven – from speeding and idling to harsh braking and steering – to be collated via TomTom’s WEBFLEET management software in a live information dashboard or in a customisable report.  It also provides live information on the location of the entire fleet, helping to improve driver productivity.

Peter Rush, Tayto Group’s purchasing manager, commented: ‘By giving us the tools to monitor and improve driving performance, the TomTom solution offers us enormous potential to improve the safety of our mobile workforce while at the same time reducing our fuel consumption.

‘Having instant access to a wealth of real time data and management reporting information will prove extremely valuable and further strengthens the commitment we have to our safety and environmental programmes.’
