Terberg to showcase multi-role Sprinter-based 6×6 model

The new multi-role TACR4 is built on the Mercedes Sprinter 6×6 chassis which is supplied by Rossett Mercedes in partnership with Oberaigner Automotive in Austria.

The 6×6 is fitted with a selectable low range transmission and independent axle differential locks and can be used in an airport environment as well as in the local authority, industrial and military market sectors.

The firm added that the unit can be reconfigured very quickly to suit various incident types for example from wildfire applications in summer seasons to flooding or technical rescue applications.

The TACR4 can carry 1,400 litres of water, 80 litres of foam and is fitted with the Hale HPX pump producing over 900 litres per minute output. The vehicle carries an extensive selection of equipment with the option for it to be configured to the customer’s final requirements.

Alisdair Couper, managing director of Terberg DTS UK, said: “This is an exciting development for us, the small TACR3 for category 2 airfields has been very successful and the introduction of the new TACR4 for category 3 airfields and other scenarios highlights our continued investment in the specialist vehicle sector.”
