Tevva Motors recognised for its electric range extended powertrains

The firm has been commended at the Rushlight Awards in the Powered Transport category as judged by leading advisors, investors and analysts in the sector.

Held at London’s Royal College of Surgeons of England, the awards saw Tevva commended for a significant achievement “that has resulted in the commercial development of forms of transport for land, sea or air, resulting in a significantly improved embedded environmental footprint”.

The commendation was announced at the awards dinner, which came immediately after the 2016 Rushlight Show, at which Tevva exhibited to visitors and potential investors.

Tevva’s electric range extender powertrain can either be fitted on the production line during the build process or as a retrofit package to an existing vehicle, and is controlled by Tevva’s Predictive Range Extender Management System (PREMS), which enables the most efficient use of the range extender without driver input.

Clive Hall, founder and CEO of the Rushlight Awards, said: “Tevva’s solution is unique, building on proven technology and enabling its full potential to be utilised in the commercial vehicle sector. Its solution will allow operators to save money and reduce emissions whilst overcoming the barriers associated with electric vehicle technology. It is a truly sustainable solution and we commend their work developing it; we look forward to seeing it come to market in the next couple of years.”
