TGS Automotive gears up for large-scale fleet conversion projects

Commercial vehicle conversion company TGS Automotive is to triple its vehicle conversion capacity at its Bristol operations under a major expansion of its fleet work.

Part of the order for 500 converted Renault Master vans supplied to the Department of Health & Social Care

The project, which will also more than double its workforce at the Fishponds site, will enable it to handle large-scale public and private sector projects. The business is also fully equipped to handle conversion requirements for electric vehicles in the future.

Director Glenn Smith explained: “We have cemented our position firmly among the top 10 UK van and truck conversion companies. The proposed expansion would enable us to treble our production capacity, as well as consolidating administrative offices. We also plan to establish a vehicle handover and conference centre to enhance customer experience.”

The move comes on the back of a contract to convert 500 Renault Master vans for the Department of Health & Social Care. The contract was completed in just three months and the vehicles are being leased to the DHSC from LeasePlan as mobile Covid-19 testing units.

Glenn Smith continued: “We completed the contract for health service vehicles in an unprecedented three months, demonstrating our capacity to fulfil large-scale public and private sector contracts with government, local authorities, fleet operators and leasing corporations on time and to the customer’s entire satisfaction. LeasePlan selected us, and our design concept for the vehicles was fine-tuned with the Department of Health & Social Care.”
