Timpson makes move to fuelGenie

The retail service provider of key cutting, shoe and watch repairs and mobile phone repairs, which owns more than 1,325 stores and 110 Snappy Snaps franchises throughout the UK and Ireland, switched to fuelGenie from its former provider to reduce costs on transaction and card fees.

The fuelGenie card offers no hidden surcharges, unlimited free cards and up to 45 days credit, as well as cutting fuel costs by up to 3p a litre by offering fuel at over 1,350 conveniently located Tesco, Morrison’s and Sainsbury’s forecourts nationwide.

The Timpsons contract began in March this year and already the high street retailer has seen a reduction in administration time when it comes to managing the fuel consumption of its 300-vehicle strong fleet, which has an average of 25,000 miles per year per vehicle.

Timpsons fleet manager Clair Vaughan said: “We decided to transfer our service to fuelGenie primarily to reduce our transaction and card fees. We’ve already seen a reduction in time spent in the business on admin when it comes to mileage and based on not having to pay the costs of transaction fees we are expecting to see a general saving overall when we pay our first full invoice.”

FuelGenie managing director Robert Pieczka added: “We strongly believe that not only will we continue to reduce administration time within Timpson’s business and thus save the business money, but also increase fuel efficiency amongst the fleet.”
