Top speakers line up for VAN Fleet World Live

Keasey, who is also head of the Central Motorway Police Group, will focus on safety, security and working in partnership to protect the freight-carrying community from criminals, and to ensure that van operators adopt a policy of habitual compliance.

He will be joined by Mark Cartwright, head of vans at the Freight Transport Association (FTA), who will discuss the ongoing success of the FTA’s Van Excellence programme and look at ways in which LCV operators can promote professionalism in the van community. He will also outline some of the findings of the recently released Van Excellence report 2015/16.

They will be followed by Stuart Jackson, chairman of TyreSafe, who appropriately enough, as October is TyreSafe month, will discuss how the organisation is working to remove defective and illegal tyres from the roads.

With more than 2.2 million MOT failures every year also due to tyres, he will discuss the latest initiatives to boost tyre safety awareness among fleet managers.

The three-session seminar programme, from 10.30am to 1.30pm, is just one of the highlights of what promises to be a very full day for LCV fleet managers. VAN Fleet World Live will offer something for everyone in the light commercial vehicle world – including a static exhibition, interactive fleet seminar programme and an exciting ride and drive event.

This fantastic all-in-one event takes place tomorrow, Friday 23rd October, in the stunning new ArenaMK in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. Pre-registration is now closed but visitors can still attend the event by going to the registration desk in the main hall to collect their FREE ticket!

Van manufacturers which have confirmed their attendance at the event include Citroen, Dacia, Fiat, Nissan, Renault and Vauxhall. And visitors will have the opportunity to road test the very latest light commercial vehicles around Milton Keynes’ innovative 'grid' system of roads – a network of national speed limit, fully landscaped routes, unique in the UK.

Anyone wanting to test drive vehicles will need bring their driving licence and National Insurance card as the organisers will have to ensure that all licences are valid by checking them against the DVLA database.

The inaugural VAN Fleet World Live event now comprises the following key elements:

  • Ride and drive event involving leading van manufacturers
  • Indoor exhibition space of over 3,420 square metres for van manufacturers and fleet service providers
  • Interactive seminar programme

Show director and organiser, Jerry Ramsdale, said: “The aim of VAN Fleet World Live is to provide visitors with a rich experience on the day, covering all possible areas of interest.

“We have a first rate seminar programme with some of the country’s leading speakers tackling a host of key issues for van fleet operators.

“And the Milton Keynes grid-based road system is ideal for testing many of the UK’s latest LCV launches.

“At the same time, the opportunity to discover potential new suppliers is as valuable as road testing vehicles for many visitors, and our indoor exhibition area will provide the ideal opportunity for that.

“The show will also be the focus for those wishing to meet up with colleagues from across the fleet industry. This great networking opportunity is an invaluable means of keeping up to date with the latest fleet industry developments,” he said.

VAN Fleet World Live is intended for fleet managers and other fleet decision-makers, senior executives from the leasing and rental industry, motor manufacturer executives and fleet consultants with responsibility for fleet purchasing decisions.
