Torus housing group achieves Van Excellence accreditation

North West-based housing group, Torus has achieved the Freight Transport Association’s  Van Excellence operator accreditation.

The FTA’s Van Excellence scheme aims to help raise compliance levels across the sector by setting high standards and sharing best practice.

The housing group runs more than 250 vans, used to carry out more than 30,00 repairs every year on its 22,000 plus homes in St Helens and Warrington.

The group secured Van Excellence scheme on its first attempt following an audit.

Haydn Hansford, managing director for Torus in house contractor, said: “This accreditation demonstrates Torus is committed to safer, more efficient and sustainable van operations. It will also help our standing with our customers and employees that we are a responsible and safe vehicle fleet operator.”
