Extra strengthening has been added to key load-bearing areas of the chassis enabling a new maximum towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes (7,716lbs) with three-axle braked trailers.

A towing capacity of up to 3,1 tonnes (6,834lbs) is possible with one- or two-axle braked trailers and a towing capacity of 0.75 tonnes (1,653lbs) is possible regardless of the number of axles or whether or not the trailer is braked.

In accordance with the new towing capability, Mitsubishi has also strengthened the tow bar and the standard fitment of the company’s Trailer Stability Assist system, which works to brake independent wheels on the Mitsubishi L200 to restore stability should the trailer start to ‘snake’.

In addition to the improved towing capacity, the L200’s rear pickup bed also offers a payload of up to 590kg at its maximum towing weight or a payload of up to 1,060kg when not towing.

The previous maximum braked towing capacity for the L200 was 3 tonnes (6,614lbs).

Priced from £19,000 (CV List Price), the Mitsubishi L200 is available in single, club and double cab body styles.
