Toyota’s Hilux pick-up has secured the number one spot for two months running in Aston Barclay’s LCV desirability index.
Hot on the heels of its October win, the Hilux fended off competition from the second- and third-placed Mercedes Sprinter and Peugeot Boxer to take the lead as the most sought after used light commercial vehicle in November.
Elsewhere in the top 10, the VW Transporter fell from second to eighth place, while the Ford Transit, Transit Custom panel vans featured alongside the Ford Ranger and Mitsubishi L200 pickups for November.
Demand for vans continues to intensify as parcel delivery companies and their sub-contractors turn to the used market to expand their fleets for another record Christmas of home deliveries, on the back of continued restrictions in new van supplies.
“The used van market continues to break records because the supply of used LCVs coming into the market continues to falter.
“Companies continue to hang onto used vans and are being forced to bid at auction to source used vehicles to expand their fleets. This looks likely to continue for many more months to come,” explained Geoff Flood, Aston Barclay’s LCV national sales manager.
