Toyota Professional dedicated LCV brand launches

Toyota has officially launched its new, dedicated light commercial vehicle brand, offering comprehensive benefits and services to LCV customers, including a five-year warranty and roadside assistance cover.

The programme offers new benefits and services to Toyota’s light commercial vehicle customers

First announced last summer, the Toyota Professional brand targets self-employed business people who own or lease just one or two vehicles, as well as SMEs running fleets of up to 50 LCVs, and provides a wide-ranging new programme designed to help keep their business on the move.

This includes the inclusion on all new LCVs of a five-year warranty and five years’ roadside assistance, effective from today, while owners are guaranteed a service appointment at their convenience, within seven days. If the seven-day target cannot be met, customers will be given a 50% reduction on the servicing labour charge.

Existing customers are also being rewarded for their loyalty, receiving free roadside assistance cover each time they complete an interim or full service for their Toyota commercial vehicle at a Toyota centre. This will run until their vehicle’s next service is due.

The new brand is being adopted by dealers across Toyota’s UK network, which will feature the LCV range prominently in their displays and provide easy access to demonstrator vehicles. Staff members are also receiving training to ensure customer priorities are clearly understood and supported with appropriate products, including finance and leasing packages. The dedicated Toyota Professional web page provides contact details for customer’s nearest participating dealer as well as full details of the programme and its benefits

Underpinned by the ‘We’ve got your back’ message, the new brand will play a big role in Toyota’s plans to grow its presence in the light commercial vehicle market (see feature here). While the company only currently competes in the medium van and pickup segments, with Proace and Hilux respectively as well as the Land Cruiser Commercial, this will radically change this spring with the Proace City compact van.

Mark Roden, Toyota (GB) operations director, said: “For many people, their vehicle is essential to their business. With Toyota Professional we will help them keep on the move so they in turn can keep their customers happy.

“With the arrival of Proace City, our range will cover the second largest segment in the LCV market, helping us reach a much-wider customer base with a product that boasts best-in-class performance and load-carrying abilities. Toyota Professional will help us maximise its potential and strengthen our relationship with new and existing customers.”
