Tracker launches entry-level tracking device

Tracker has launched a new tracking solution, designed to bring “affordable” tracking.

Dubbed Tracker Vantage, the solution is based on GPS-only technology – all other Tracker solutions combine GPS and VHF technology – and offers a range of security alerts and instant theft reporting capabilities with European coverage. Drivers get alerts of when their vehicle is moved without the ignition turned on or if the battery is disconnected.

Drivers can also use the Tracker Touch app to set up geofencing to receive alerts if their vehicle moves outside a chosen perimeter and can use ‘Find My Vehicle’ alerts for when they can’t remember where they have parked their car. Before they park, drivers can also check the area’s crime rating via the app, which also features a ‘Report an Accident’ feature, connecting motorists to a dedicated accident management team.

The new product is primarily aimed at retail drivers but can also be used by fleets and is being targeted at van drivers. A spokesperson for the company said: “The geofence element will be particularly useful to businesses.”

Greig Hilton, managing director of Tracker, added: “Tracker Vantage brings together all our expertise in stolen vehicle recovery and packages it in a seamless and convenient GPS based system for today’s motorists. Our 24/7 security operating centre is on hand around the clock to help motorists in the event of theft, even if it is stolen and taken anywhere in Europe.”
