July showed continued growth for the French True Fleet Market. Total figures were more than 147,000 for the month, up 10.9%, according to DATAFORCE.
Private Market grew by 9.9%, while True Fleet had its third consecutive month-by-month growth with a 12.7% increase. Special Channels also grew by 11.7%, pushing its year-to-date increase to 7.8%.
The data shows that the French continue to support their home-made products, Peugeot came 1st, followed by Renault (2nd) in the OEM rankings. Citroen and Volkswagen came 3rd and 4th respectively, with the French manufacturer scoring the second highest growth inside the Top 10 with 42.9%. German prestige brands Audi (5th) and BMW (6th) were followed by Mercedes-Benz (7th) didn’t manage to make any headway in the market. Rounding out the top ten were Ford (8th), Toyota (9th) and Nissan (10th), the latter losing out to Ford and Toyota who experienced the highest growth in the top ten.
The True Fleet Utilities segment showed the greatest growth, with 75.3% for July, which pushed the YTD growth to 27.2% and has allowed utilities to become the biggest growth segment in France for 2017 so far.
DATAFORCE indicated that 80.7% of the YTD volume growth has been from just three vehicle models, the Renault Kangoo, Citroen Jumpy and Peugeot Expert. The Ford Transit Courier and Opel Vivaro also did well, with the Transit Courier having its best sales month since its release in 2014, while the Vivaro had its best month since DATAFORCE’s statistics began in 2003.
