Turn vans and eLCVs into mobile media platforms with new digital tech

“Game-changing” new digital media products that provide situationally aware real-time marketing communications have now launched for the van sector.

The V-Media Pod and solar-assisted EV-Media Pod use LED screens to enable brands and fleet owners/operators to deliver dynamic, data-driven advertising and communications that can be both location- and time-specific

Developed for both conventional petrol/diesel vehicles and eLCVs, the V-Media Pod and solar-assisted EV-Media Pod use LED screens to enable brands and fleet owners/operators to deliver dynamic, data-driven advertising and communications that can be both location- and time-specific.

The lightweight pods include low energy, high bright, fine pitch LED display modules said to be of the highest quality.

The proprietary technology also makes use of 5G-GPS communications, and a hardware health status remote monitoring system, thermal management, anti-vibration system – all of which have undergone extensive research and development and rigorous product testing

It’s been developed by Tod Technologies, which is part of Transit Outdoor Digital Group and specialises in vehicular-based transit and mobile DOOH (Digital Out of Home) advertising technology solutions.

Founder and CEO Daniel Faughnan said the V-Media Pod presents a disruptive proposition at a time when conventional advertising is undergoing a major shake-up.

He explained: “Having been in stealth mode for some time now, we are super excited and thrilled to finally launch our first-of-their-kind products, the timing of which we believe could not have been better. The change in both people’s mobility and geographical working habits, together with, of course, programmatic DOOH and third-party cookies crumbling, is driving a huge resurgence in out-of-home advertising, with brands and marketers seeking more effective ways to find their target audience with the right message at the right time.

“Traditional vinyl and full-wrap graphics are an established, successful, and effective method for commercial vehicle brand management and will, of course, co-exist with real-time, targeted, digital format communications. However, to date, commercial vehicle or van fleet owners, operators, and leasing businesses have been either unable to provide (or limited in providing) targeted and contextually aware brand activations that are highly effective, in real time, relevant and in a digital format. It’s a game changer!”
