Turners Fine Foods adds to refrigerated fleet

VMS will be supplying a total of 20 MWB Refrigerated Mercedes Sprinter Box Vans for delivery at the beginning of March 2016 on a contract hire agreement. All vehicles will be built by Polar Truck & Van and fitted with the Alex Original 3000 Series Dual Evaporator System with 1ph electric standby facility.

The batch of new-build vehicles will be tailored to fully utilise the chilled and frozen compartments. A tunnel section will be built to allow for frozen goods to be stored and has been designed so the frozen storage can fit the whole width of the vehicle body. The chilled section will fit above the frozen compartment allowing for both dual compartments to have sufficient storage space for their deliveries with access from the side door.

Richard Hobbs, operations & transport manager, Turners Fine Foods said: “We are always looking at improving the service to our customers, the ‘Turners specific’ design will ensure product quality is kept to the highest standard, whatever the weather. We have chosen the Mercedes chassis’ to help maintain the reliable fleet we have always enjoyed with VMS.”
