A total of 72 variants will be available in the UK, with Renault’s top-selling LCV range taking in panel and crew vans, platform cab and Passenger versions. Offering a choice of three trim levels, four frugal, yet responsive engines and a series of innovative and high-end equipment touches, the manufacturer believes the van will fulfil every business need.
The entry point for the range, and the likely best-seller, is the appropriately termed, Business. Its core features include a height adjustable driver's seat with armrest, left side loading door (unglazed), reach and rake adjustable steering wheel, electric front windows, electric heated door mirrors, full steel bulkhead, spare wheel, remote central locking (two button key) and deadlocking, plus 16 anchorage points (18 on long wheelbase). And, new are ESC with HSA (Hill Start Assist) and Grip Xtend (advanced traction control system to cope with loose surfaces (mud, sand and fresh snow etc.), plus DAB radio with USB connectivity all feature as standard.
Moving up to Business+ adds several items of equipment centred around its positioning as a mobile office. Namely, a fold down centre passenger seat with removable A4 clipboard, laptop storage, and smartphone dock. Also offered as part of the £1,100 price upgrade from Business is air conditioning, full steel bulkhead with load-through facility (up to 4.15m in the long wheelbase version), and Wide View Mirror (set in the passenger side sun visor, it more than doubles the line of sight to the rear). On the outside, All-New Trafic's modern lines are enhanced through body coloured front bumper, door rail and tail light column, as well as rear parking sensors.
Rounding the range off is Sport. Sport offers extras including 17-inch alloy wheels, auto lights and wipers, Bluetooth, leather steering wheel, lidded upper dashboard storage, metallic paint and body coloured door mirrors and chrome grille, seven-inch touchscreen MediaNav multimedia and navigation system, cruise control, speed limiter and front fog lights.
A total of four diesel engines are available to power All-New Trafic. Each one is a Euro 5 compliant, 1.6-litre, in either single or twin-turbo guise, designed to also comply with Euro 6b emissions legislation. The dCi 90 is reserved solely for the entry-level Business, with the dCi 115, plus ENERGY dCi 120 and 140, available on every model (high roof and Platform Cab variants only available with the latter two).
Stop & Start is standard on the ENERGY dCi 120 and dCi 140 powerplants. Average fuel economy has risen by more than 5mpg across the range (single turbo), with up 47.9 mpg on the combined cycle and emissions of only 149 grams CO2 per kilometre, in the case of the ENERGY dCi 120 (Passenger version).
All-New Trafic can be specified in one of ten body colours, including six metallic. New for 2014 are Bamboo Green, Copper Brown and Magma Red.
