National engineering business United Plant has added four more Volkswagen Crafter vans for its fleet, based on the safety and reliability of its existing vans.
The latest consignment of vehicles joins the existing 28 vans ordered in 2018, which include Crafter, Transporter and caddy; its entire fleet now consists of Volkswagens.
All of the vans have been converted, including with bespoke racking, livery and safety features. The internal racking conversion, completed by Bott, also featured prominent livery and security features, while 360-degree live CCTV recording, LED warning light systems and a cycle turning warning alert were fitted by Spillard Safety Systems.
While the vans’ safety record and reliability were key factors in securing the latest order, Volkswagen’s flexible servicing options was also a vital consideration, helping to ensure United Plant’s vans are always operational, to provide onsite engineering coverage to customers across the UK.
As part of its ‘Working With You’ brand promise, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has a fleet of Mobile Service Clinics, each underpinned by a fully equipped Crafter that is able to bring the service centre to the customer’s doorstep, whilst minimising downtime.
Greg Mulhearn, managing director of United Plant, commented: “I have been extremely impressed with the standard of our Volkswagen vans. It was vital that we could have significant input into the specification of the vans to ensure that they met our specific needs. The safety record along with reliability and flexible servicing options were also key reason for us choosing Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.”
