VAN Fleet World editor Dan Gilkes will be lacing up his running shoes this weekend, to tackle the TCS New York City Marathon (Sunday 3 November).
He is raising funds for leading charity Children with Cancer UK. Dan has spent the last 16 weeks training for the run, which will take him through all five boroughs of the Big Apple – Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan.
As in previous years, Dan has had a running shirt printed with major sponsor logos, including VAN Fleet World, Renault, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Vauxhall, Peugeot, Citroën, DS, the Transit Owners Club and construction equipment manufacturer JCB. With their help, he has already exceeded his fund-raising target of £2,500.
“I would like to thank everyone who has so generously donated to Children with Cancer UK this year, it really is appreciated” said Dan. “Now I’ve just got to run 26.2 miles!”
