Van insurance product recognises fleets addressing risk management

The Van Excellence scheme has teamed up with commercial insurance broker McCarron Coates to launch a new insurance product to help operators working on risk management.

The insurance product helps operators looking to achieve the Van Excellence standard

The solution has been designed by insurer QBE to bring a competitive premium, low claims rebate and access to risk management and telematics apps – but policyholders can also choose between funding towards Van Excellence membership (year one), a Van Excellence audit, half a day of training, or a complimentary year’s subscription to the Guide to Van Excellence.

“The Van Excellence team is committed to promoting the safe, compliant and efficient operations of vans,” commented Barrie Wilson, regional manager of Van Excellence. “That’s why we partnered with McCarron Coates to launch a bespoke insurance product, designed to assist operators in their journeys to create the safest and most efficient fleets possible, and ultimately, achieve Van Excellence Operator Certification.”

Ian McCarron, director of McCarron Coates, added: “This policy has been designed and written specifically for fleet managers and SMEs who recognise the need to instil best practice within the drivers who act as ambassadors for their brand on the road. It tailors its premiums and cover to a scenario in which a business is striving to achieve the Van Excellence standard and, therefore, managing its risk as a consequence of that. We are excited to bring this bespoke option to Van Excellence members and to assist them with their onward journey as safe and compliant drivers.”
