Varitech Systems orders electric Citroën ë-Dispatch vans for client fleet

Long-standing Citroën customer Varitech Systems has placed a fleet order for electric Citroën ë-Dispatch vans on behalf of a client.

The ë-Dispatch electric vans will be put to use for essential cleaning services across Leeds and the surrounding area, providing zero-emission running

Supplied by Citroën retailer Yeomans in Exeter, the nine vans will be put to use for essential cleaning services across Leeds and the surrounding area, providing zero-emission running.

All feature the larger 75kWh battery, which brings a WLTP-rated range of up to 205 miles. The ë-Dispatch line-up also includes a 50kWh battery with a range of up to 143 miles.

Both batteries can be charged at home through a 7Kw wallbox, or via a super-fast public charging station at speeds of up to 100kW, giving an 80% recharge in 30 or 45 minutes for the 50kWh and 75kWh versions respectively.

Varitech has also customised the new ë-Dispatch models to cater for its customer’s specific needs, including the installation of a 650-litre water tank, modular flooring on top of a tank capable of holding up to 250kg, pumps, controllers and filters. These are all easily accessible from the vehicle’s side or rear.

The ë-Dispatch comes with a choice of three trim levels, ‘X’, ‘Enterprise’, and ‘Driver’ and ‘XS’, ‘M’ and ‘XL’ lengths. On behalf of its client, Varitech Systems has opted for the popular ‘Enterprise’ specification in both ‘M’ and ‘XL’ lengths as well the ‘Driver’ specification in ‘M’ length.

Varitech Systems has previously operated a fleet incorporating models across Citroën’s petrol and diesel LCV range, but thanks to the arrival of the 100% electric new ë-Dispatch, it’s looking to make Citroën the sole supplier of vehicles for its Streamline fleet.

Jason Scott, sales & marketing manager at Varitech Systems, commented: “The new Citroën ë-Dispatch models will allow our client to operate their fleet in an environmentally positive way, whilst the practical load capacity and range capabilities will support the necessary services required.”

Scott Westerby, fleet director, Citroën UK, added: “It is great to hear Varitech Systems has placed an order for nine Citroën ë-Dispatch vans on behalf of their client. Varitech Systems has been a loyal customer for Yeomans Citroën, and I am always pleased to see that our range of vehicles continues to impress fleet operators. New Citroën ë-Dispatch has received a great reception from customers and industry experts since launch, and we hope to be able to provide operators like Varitech Systems’ client with even more vehicles to help them carry out their work practically, cost effectively and emission-free.”
